Full Description

On this two hour, small group tour (maximum of four people) we will take you to one of the Catlins Bat Project's main survey areas where bats are recorded regularly; even during the winter months. Here we will show you how to use a bat detector and supply you with a headlamp and high viz. Your guide will scan the night sky with night vision goggles, pointing you to any bats seen flying towards the group.

Meeting Point

The tour departs from Earthlore - 129 Hinahina Road, Owaka approximately twenty minutes before sunset. Come to the carpark at the top of the drive where we will have our courtsey van waiting.
