Full Description

Kaikōura is home to sperm whales year round, as well as a popular migratory and feeding route for many other species of whales and dolphins. From the air passengers can experience the true magnitude of the world’s largest mammal, the whale. These animals can reach an impressive 18 metres in length and weigh up to 60 tonne!

Wings Over Whales Kaikōura operate high-winged aircraft, which allows each person their own window seat and optimal, unobstructed viewing. All Kaikoura whale watching flights are carried out in accordance with Department of Conservation Marine Mammal Regulations.

Please check 30 minutes prior to your flight time at the main terminal of the Kaikoura Airport located just a 7 minute drive south of Kaikoura township. Here, our friendly staff will guide you through our electronic check in system before carrying out your safety and whale briefings.

Please note, a free shuttle service to the airport is available should you need it but must be arranged at least 24 hours before your sceduled flight time. To avail of this service please make contact with our staff on 033195548 or email [email protected].

There is lots of free parking available at the airport.
