Waikato River EBike tour
Pick up from Auckland to start your ebike ride in the small regional town of Ngaruawahia. Ride beside the breathtakingly beautiful Waikato river for 20km's into Hamilton Central. Follow your experienced guide through a custom route to show you some of the different aspects of Hamilton city, including the War Memorial Gardens and a local pubic reserve with a lovely mature grove of Totara trees. Lunch in Hamilton Gardens, while you decide on how much more adventure you want in the afternoon. Ride from the Gardens through to Cambridge on wide custom built boardwalks on the river bank. You can choose to ride all the way through to Lake Karapiro for a stunning end to the day's riding.

Start your ebike adventure with a convenient pick-up from Auckland if required and begin your ride in the small regional town of Ngaruawahia and follow the breathtaking Waikato River for 20 km into Hamilton Central. Your experienced guide will lead you on a custom route showcasing various aspects of Hamilton city, including the War Memorial Gardens and a local public reserve with a lovely mature grove of Totara trees.
Enjoy lunch in the beautiful Hamilton Gardens, where you can decide on your afternoon adventure. Continue riding from the Gardens through to Cambridge on wide, custom-built boardwalks along the riverbank. For those seeking more adventure, ride all the way to Lake Karapiro for a stunning end to the day's journey.
This Waikato ebike tour is designed for riders of all abilities and fitness levels who want a leisurely experience with a taste of New Zealand's rural scenery and stunning views of the Waikato River. The route features 80% wide paved cycleway, 15% custom-built 3m wide boardwalks, and 5% road riding, with distances ranging from 10 to 70 km (1–5 hours) to suit your preference.
The journey begins with a gentle paved cycleway from Ngaruawahia to Te Rapa, continuing to Hamilton Gardens for lunch by the river. If 25 km is enough for you, you can end your ride here. For those eager for more, there's additional riding on the other side of the Gardens.
Experience the beauty of a preserved natural grove of historic significance, try out your skills on the pump track or circuit lap near Waikato University, and enjoy a guided tour of some lesser-known cycle paths. This tour is a perfect way to explore the serene and picturesque Waikato River and its surroundings, all while enjoying the comfort and support of our tour van.

8:00-8:30 - Pickup from Auckland Pickup point, (or Auckland hotel)
8:30-10:15 - Travel to trail head
10:15 - 10:30 - Bike setup per rider and safety briefing
10:30 -11:30 - Ride 12km from Ngaruawahia to Pukete (Hamilton) for morning tea stop
11:45 - 13:00 - Ride 15km from Pukete to Hamilton Gardens
13:00 - 13:45 - Lunch in Hamilton Gardens
14:00 - 15:45 - Ride 25km from Hamilton Gardens to Cambridge Velodrome (option to ride an additional 15km to Lake Karapiro)
15:45 - 18:00 - Packup and travel back to Auckland drop-off point/hotel
