Drive through the stunning Canterbury countryside and the towns of Ashburton, Methven and Geraldine and experience the beauty of New Zealand all over again. Spectacular snow capped mountains line the horizon with cows and sheep grazing along the side of the road, it’s a truly beautiful sight. Methven is a popular snow sports town in the winter months. Sitting at the foot of the Southern Alps it makes a perfect base for skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts who come to conquer the slopes of nearby Mount Hutt. Jetboating around the Rakaia Gorge is a popular tourist activity and white water rafting, salmon fishing, and trout fishing. Geraldine is a friendly village with an artistic streak located in the heart of a prosperous farming area. The Canterbury plains have plenty of cycling trails and mountain biking, skydiving activities and also a main attraction are the beautiful walking and hiking tracks. Ashburton is located at the coast with great surf beaches, restaurants and cafe's.
