The Bridge to Nowhere

The Bridge to Nowhere tour, departs from Pipiriki, we jetboat 32kms upriver through fern and flax cloaked gorges, along the way your local driver/guide will stop and share with you the historical and scenic points of interests. 

After arriving at the Mangapurua landing, you will be guided on a gentle 40min walk to the Bridge to Nowhere - a large concrete structure built in 1936 to give early pioneering farmers access to their farms, an area known as "The valley of abandoned Dreams", where you will stop for lunch on this historical monument of a bygone era.

FROM:

OHAKUNE/NATIONAL PARK: Allow 1 hour comfortable drive

DIRECTION: Once arriving in Pipiriki slow down at the two story house as we are only a short 50m from there on the right side where our Whanganui River Adventures sign is. Come up the driveway to a RED Building with a large paved carparking site.

FROM:

WANGANUI/TAUMARUNUI: Allow 1.5 – 2 hrs comfortable drive

DIRECTION: Via the State Highway 4 and Whanganui River Road turn-off at Pipiriki intersection turn right (1^st Sign) coming up road 200 metres to our(2^nd sign) at the driveway then come up the drive to the RED Building with the large paved parking area.
